Kenya has recorded 15 more recoveries from Covid-19 raising the number of confirmed Covid-19 recoveries in the country to 40.
While addressing the media Monday evening, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has also confirmed that 11 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after 674 people were tested upping the total national tally to 208.
On the other hand, the Cabinet Secretary has confirmed that one more patient from Nairobi has succumbed to the pandemic bringing the total Covid-19 deaths in the country to 9.
Kagwe has said that all the eleven are Kenyans and that four had a travel history to United Arabs Emirates. Six of them are females while the other five are males.
The eleven are aged between 1 year and 42 years and they come from the following counties:
Mandera – 4
Mombasa – 3
Nairobi – 2
Nakuru – 1
Machakos – 1
TOTAL : 11
Four out of the eleven are from mandatory quarantine while the other seven were picked by the ministry of Health surveillance team.
The Health Cs has urged employers to treat their employees in a humane manner requesting them not to send employees home on compulsory leave with no pay. He has requested the employers to make sure that their employees and their families are able to put a meal their tables during this period.
