TWO DIE IN ROAD ACCIDENT ALONG MWINGI-KYUSO ROAD IN KITUI COUNTY

Two people, a motorist and his passenger have died on the spot after their motorcycle had a head collision with a Kyuso bound matatu this afternoon at Waita along Mwingi-Kyuso road in Kitui county.
According to the Mwingi central sub county deputy Ocpd Nicholas Mutua, the matatu was heading to Mwingi from Kyuso when the motorist left his proper lane hence colliding with the matatu. The motorist and his passenger has died on the spot. Mutua has told Sharptip News that both the motor vehicle and the motor cycle are extensively damaged.
The security personnel is looking for the driver of the matatu who escaped immediately after the deadly accident.
The police has taken the bodies of the deceased to Mwingi level 4 mortuary awaiting Postmortem.
The deputy Ocpd has confirmed that both the motorbike and the matatu have been detained at Mwingi police station for inspection.
Speaking exclusively to Sharptip News, Mutua has warned against over speeding by motorists and drivers on roads in his region and entirely countrywide.
He has appealed to all road users to be extra alert and comply to all traffic rules.
A spot check by Sharptip News has revealed that another accident which claimed three lives and left many injured, a few weeks ago, occurred a few kilometres from the scene of today’s accident involving a matatu of the same Sacco with another Mwingi bound bus.
This has raised alarm all over the social media platforms with the residents requesting the traffic officers within to be much vigilant on ensuring that all traffic rules are strictly followed.
